Alma Mater

Alma Mater, the University of Bologna, was probably the first University in the western world. In the nineteenth century a committee of historians, led by Giosuè Carducci, attributed the birth of the University to the year 1088. Some days ago, I was random walking after a good breakfast when I met an historical flag parade. The most interesting one was the Alma Mater historical flag with many coat of arms. The flag bearer did’t give to me a lot of info about it, but I think the arms were related with the poles of the university at that time.
